But which two? I'd say only Ooberman are worthy so I'm less tolerant than you.

I'm a bit fed up of the repetition at the minute. Cerys Matthews did the Steve Wright show with Mark. I know many did not listen to Tom Robinson, but I disagree with bringing bands in so soon after they were on in the same slot. It's a privilege of BBC employment that Mark is entitled to be selfish and put us through these artists again so that he can hear them play in the same room as himself.

It also makes me question something I was told by a BBC employee. They said to me that the same band cannot be on twice in the same year, there's plenty of examples of this "rule" being broken lately.

That sounded a bit mean, I laughed when I heard it though as it means different things to different people.

Were Ooberman on with Tom? Not when he was filling in for Mark? on his show I suppose you mean.

The Howling bells were on with Tom too weren't they?

Mark wants to see them, it is like his own private performance and we happen to be listening. I wonder if they have been moved from the week when Russell is  doing the show? That song has finally grown on me it has taken weeks but I quite like it now, I'm trying to remember if they were good guests when they were in with Tom, but I can't.

Of that four there's only Cerys Matthews I'd make an effort for...

And maybe bother to listen to her as well.

What happens if they are? Do they have to be killed? If so, Micah P and The Earlies would have been dead two years ago.

I can't remember, but I think I was driving into Wales when Cerys was on Mark's afternoon show. Did she actually sing or did Mark just play two tracks from her new album?

Did you go and see BSP at King Tuts or was Marc having trouble reading his script on Friday 8th?

My two nights off are Monday and Thursday.

p.s. Have I missed the Howling Bells?

I was the BSP gig at King Tut's, my first time in that venue. It was nice.

Nice venue, shame about the Friday (and Saturday) night crowd. Not one of BSP's better performances, either. I hope you enjoyed it. Have you reviewed it anywhere?

I liked it, good enough for me; you have something to compare that performance to. I've not really reviewed it, I've written about attending on my corner of t'internet, there is a link in the right-hand column.

Familiarity breeds contempt (or summat). Bands obviously need exposure and the opportunity to chat and play live, but perhaps on different shows to "reach different audiences". We don't need them twice on the same show - Pipettes take note - and overexposure on all channels is also annoying.

The logical conclusion would be some sort of integration of the BBC channels' output, monitored and apportioned, perhaps by some sort of computer system which would define a list of the most popular songs of the moment, reviewed weekly, and include some of these in every show, so that people can be sure of finding something they like. A clerk could be appointed to oversee the system.

A playlist would be a good idea, and the clerk could oversee it.
