Yes, I've been watching it on a 42" plasma screen while barbecuing some imported burgers over a smoky fire. Cool

I was gonna watch it, but I realised there was no beer in our massive American-style Smeg fridge, so I hopped in the Hummer and drove to Asda, they were clean out of my favourite brand of food-miles econobrew, so I drove to the Asda in the next town, there was a huge queue and I bought some dirt-cheap sweatshop shirts, when I got home Live Earth had finished so I went online and booked a weekend break in Prague in a hotel with an outdoor sauna and hot tub, then I relaxed in the garden with a bottle of cheap wine flown in from the other side of the world, got a bit nippy so I fired up the patio heater, and then the world ended, but so what, I had fun.

I've just been reading the reviews on BBC News website, and I don't understand what Some Concerts have got to do with global warming. Are we saying that people are so dumb that they don't read about global warming in the papers, that the only way through to the public's thick noddle these days is via a stage with the Arctic Monkeys on it, that they have to be fed the message on a gigantic rock-music-shaped spoon?

Even the red-tops (steady as she goes) must have mentioned G.W. at some point.
Probably in the same breath as its architect, G.W. Bush.

<edit> Grrrrr!

Al Gore's wife's name is Tipper. What's that about?

Yeah, I was thinking similar myself today...  Live 8 2 years ago to raise awareness of poverty in Africa, Live Earth today to raise awareness of global warming...  What's it gonna be in 2009?

As in, 69 again?

I did the Monkeys a disservice, which I retract. I also note and approve their new single, "Fluorescent Adolescent", which presumably promotes energy-saving fluorescent lightbulbs to a young audience (?).

The more I hear that, the more I like it - "Was it a Mecca dobber or a betting pencil?"

One might sn¡gger (Ms Daisy), but in context, it's melancholy.  Yeah really.  People just don't take this pop music stuff seriously enough, you know.  Undecided

Remind me sometime to tell you my post-Spice Girls feminism theory, based on the works of Allen, Nash and others.
