well vocally you can tell who it is, and the odd bit of bass gives the game away, the one instrumental is fab and i like the timbaland/justin twiddling, proper stomping music, i shall be playing it at my mate em's before we hit plymouth on sat night, that's for sure!

you'd hate it solar Grin

And as this thread was about disappear into the sunset, it's back again!

Bought quite a few albums recently, so here goes:

Top of the list is the finally released Pacific Ocean Blue-Dennis Wilson. Well worth waiting for, certainly the best solo Beach Boys effort.

Of course the Fleet Foxes, both album and Sun Giant EP, the best new album of the year (so far!)

The third In-Kraut compilation (Vol 3) doesn't let you down, brilliant German beats from 1967-1974.

A disc I've been after for a while, Delia Derbyshire's Electrosonic is marvelous. Originally released in 1972 on KPM. This is a great album from one of the geniuses from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop .

Lastly is Hear, O Israel:A Prayer Ceremony in Jazz. †A weird and wonderful album from 1968 featuring a stella line-up of top jazzers including Herbie Hancock. Another great release from Jonny Trunk

This is one of my ALL TIME  favourite records - still have the original vinyl with a big pic of the gorgeous Dennis. Its just so mind-blowingly wonderful that I cannot describe how brilliant it is. Hell, Ian, you and I agree on something!!

Its no wonder the Pacific Ocean is blue...

I'm sure we agree on quite a few things!!

I would recommend the CD re-issue because it does contain the unfinished follow up Bambu which is damn good as well.

Good work, Ian.

I got the Fleet Foxes album too, it's an instant listening pleasure.

There's a couple of albums that I'm listening to at the minute that maybe only feature a few good songs but those few songs justify the album's existence, Danny and the Champions of the World is one, I love the opening track, Truest Kind. A Cork Tale Wake by Chris Bathgate is another, although it has a few more good songs, Last Parade on Ann St is fantastic, even though a huge chunk of it is just Where is my Mind by Pixies.

When Oldnathan (read his brilliant missives on the Andrew Collings blog) first started on about Sufjan Stevens, I thought he was good but I would never become addicted, now, I have to listen to Come on Feel the Illinoise every day.

The Rosie Taylor Project and The Just Joans albums have just plopped through the letterbox, and I eagerly await the new Sigur Ros one.
