Mostly listening to 'Real Life Permanent Dreams', a fantastic 4 disc box set of British Psychedelia and the new Candidate album 'Oxengate' in which they thank both Stuart and Mark (and Andrew Collins, Bob Harris and Gideon Goe)

I searched through the CD's for recent music but it was all elvis, Queen etc. So I ended up listening to Queen, ABBA and Greatest Hits 2005.

I am also listening to Cherry Ghost.

I am also, boringly, listening to Richard Hawley, Roofer's last one, anything by Mr Dylan, Ol' Ma Streisand and Roddy Frame's 'Surf'.

That's a nice selection, Sir Vegi of Bacon, well, apart from Brett obviously. One of those voices that just grates with me.

Manic Street Sweepers - Send Away The Tigers
I think I said somewhere that Autumn Song had "contractual obligation" written all through it. Well I suddenly realised that I've not played Send Away The Tigers more than about 4 times, and it's not made an impression at all, unlike its predecessors. It's just 40 mins of chugging rock!

Can anyone recommend Wincing The Night Away by The Shins? Just been reminded (by Guy Garveney Lead Singer Of Elbow) how good Phantom Limb is.

That's a tough question, Mr Solar.

It depends which angle you want to attack the album from.

If you had previously listened to and liked Chutes too Narrow, you might be disappointed, after all this was Seagull Album of the Year 2004. I'd recommend this album to anyone - classic pop beat group stylings.

Wincing the Night Away is much more wistful and there is only a smattering of the pop stylings evident in the previous album. Phantom Limb is perhaps the best track from the album. I like wist and I like pop, I don't mind owning both.
